President and Co-Founder
As President, Darien is responsible for implementing the strategic initiatives that will drive the company forward. Darien first started developing online media in 1982, when bulletin board systems ran on text-based screens and 300 baud modems. He hasn't stopped since. With the advent of the Internet and rich media content, the need for well-designed websites with integrated back-end programming continues to grow. For two decades, Darien has immersed himself in the world of information architecture, user interface design, instructional writing, multimedia, and application development. With a strong background in the print industry and adult education, he co-founded IPC with the intent of bringing the best possible mix of form and function to web and multimedia projects.
His prior work experience includes seven years developing strategies and implementing solutions that would affect over 20 companies in the U.S. branch of the world’s largest graphic arts organization. During this time, Darien provided consulting and training services to Fortune 500 clients including Apple Computer, Bloomingdale's, Ford, Frito-Lay, Harley Davidson, John Deere, Kraft Foods, Miller Brewing, Motorola, Procter & Gamble and Spiegel.
In 1989, Darien was the first MacTemp in the Chicagoland area and spent the next several months in temporary placement at over 40 companies performing consulting, training, graphic design and business document production tasks.
Darien has authored sections of books about computer repair and application use for QUE, a division of Macmillan Computer Publishing, and has been a repeat guest writer of technical articles for The Business Ledger newspaper distributed within Chicago’s suburbs.
